Hows your hatch rate on shipped eggs?

I have 5 chicks from 70 or so eggs that where shipped. Good, bad I dont know. I am a newbie to it though. So I wanted to know your hatch rate on shipped eggs. Any info would be great.

I am new to having eggs shipped to and only 1 of my dozen actually hatced. 2 others died in the egg and the rest were not fertile or went bad. I think it is the luck of the draw of how they are packaged and how the PO treats the package.

We candled ours last night again (day 8). 8 are fertile, 2 "maybes." The rest aren't happening.

My first hatch I started out with 14 shipped, 12 picked up from over an hour away and 8 local.

I hatched 7 shipped, 9 picked up and 4 local.

I've bought eggs 4 times.

1st shipment)--8 serama eggs-3 hatched

2nd shipment)--18 jersey giants-16 hatched

3rd shipment)--28 eggs (5-6 different breeds)--12 hatched

4th shipment)--Just put in the bator--these eggs where shipped by a "very reputable person"--who's packing technique left me scratching my head-labeling and shipping--I'm not going there. But out of the 18 that were sent 12 of them had loose air cells. (Post man said--I didn't know there were eggs in that box, they've had a rough ride today)..

Oh Well, I hope I get what I want out of this batch and it will be the last of my shipped eggs.

I've only hatched shipped eggs once, everything else was local...

15 eggs from Meyers. 8 fertile. 4 hatched. 2 lived. Go figure. Badddd numbers.

I am new to incubating shipped eggs also. I have 12 in the bator now, on day 8. I candled last night and 10 of those were developing, 1 maybe and 1 nothing. These eggs came from Alaska all the way to Louisiana.

Yogiman has received alot of shipped eggs and of course some hatch rates are higher than others. I know that one shipment of eggs came from Washington (I think) to Louisiana and he had 100 % hatch rate.

It depends on how they are handled in shipping.

I just hatched 13 out of 16, but when I candled the 16 eggs at 18 days they all were alive.

Ive got 2 more shipments in the bator now. 18 eggs candled at 7days 1 had bloodring others were good, going to candle them again tomorrow when I stop turning. Got another shipment of 16 in the bator to candle tomorrow that is 8 days.

Update>>>> just candled the second shipment at 18 days and all were alive, one was tossed at 7 days (bloodring) as I stated above. Third shipment was candled too at 7 days all showed to be alive.

I only once had eggs shipped, 14 eggs (rio grande turkey)
and I gut 4 poults.

I had 14 eggs shipped, 12 eggs were fertile. 10 grew to maturity, and 10 are happy and healthy!!! Steph
