Goooood Morning Everybody~

Looking forward to this weekend too! 50 Deg. will feel wonderful.
Somebody please remind me of this polar vortex crapola when we're in the throes of the summer heat and humidity!

Lexi: Let me know when you're ready to come over to do my kitchen. I'm a sucker for odd dishes, bowls and kitchen gadgets so things are a bit out of control. Going to a Pampered Chef party next weekend. Not good....

carousel86...how are you? All is well w/your chickens I hope!

JerseyHen...sounds like your cousin has a great piece of property. I hope she finds a home for those adorable pigs. I asked my husband if I could take one. He said "Are you OUT of your MIND?!!!" ((why yes I am....what's his point?!))

brookyndiane! How's things? As I recall, you were looking for more chickens. Did you get more? Enjoying them I hope! Getting eggs yet...?

Well...I must get back to work. Have a great day :)

I'm looking for the spring. The kiddo wants a leghorn

He knows how to fix everything! He did fix the furnace aswell, I guess somthing was wrong with the wiring to the burner. We just had the furnace put in last month but I guess the guy who did it didnt tightin down the caps on the wires.
We didnt go anywhere fancy, just to the olive garden over in poughkeepsie
Glad everything worked out. NOT the best weather for a furnace problem!

I LOVE the olive garden! My DH is pretty handy like that too -it's awesome. I'm reading these articles Laura ingalls wilder wrote for agricultural magazines a century ago. It's fascinating. She not only was an inspiration to women but she knew her poultry. A real homesteader. I would definitely recomemd looking up a set of these articles.
Thanks charlie14...I love reading stuff like that. Where did you find them? Internet or hard copies?

Not to change the subject but does anyone know what hunting season it is right now? I ask because 5:30 this morrning a truck pulled in across the street from me today, and they where in full hunting getup..I dont mind hunting, just dont like poachers. I know deer season is over because I dont here 20 gun shots a day anymore.

it is preditor (cyote, fox, bobcat) and small game (rabbit, squirrel) season until February something.
