Huge bulging crop chicken on side!! help me please!

I came home and found my chicken on her side..when i went to see her, her crop was as big as a candle pin ball ...what do I do!!!

it's a candlepin bowling ball...crisis is over, I had to do crop surgery..I pulled a massive ball of hay-like grass out of her crop, sewed it up and put some superglue on the stitches..she appears to be fine now.

Try giving her some bread soaked in oil and massage her crop really well and often.

It was easy, really. Her crop was SO distended that it was all skin, no feathers. I also think that it lessened the pain because it was stretched so tight. As of this morning, she looks like any other chicken.

Good job!
But keep your eye on her. Sometimes, if their crop stretches out that far, it tends to have recurring problems.
