Our girls just started laying. The first egg was tiny (about the size of a quarter and the yolk was only about the size as an eraser tip). Now they're getting to "normal" size, but today we found a behemoth. Just huge! Is that normal?

There are two of our normal eggs (before they were washed) as a reference.

It's so big the carton won't close lol!

That is one big egg, ambitious pullet you have there, wonder if it is a double. Odd eggs, doubles, shell-less ones, tiny ones etc are common when pullets are starting to lay, they are just working the kinks out of their egg laying system and should straighten themselves out in a little while.

We have been joking that she is trying to out do the leghorn who laid a 2" egg yesterday!
