Super excited!!! First egg ever!

I had a feeling one of our girls (out of 6) was getting close to laying. I got the nesting boxes ready and added oyster shell if anybody wanted any. Came home yesterday to our first egg. Looks good size wise, shell was feeling nice and hard. I was very curious to see what was inside if everything was normal and got a small double yoke! For our very first egg. I feel like this is a small blessing and message. I am in awe

Congratulations!! It is so exciting to find your first egg! My hens started laying almost 2 months ago and I am still excited to collect eggs!

It's like a little miracle, isn't it? And just imagine, each egg is a single cell! It IS a little miracle! I'm 15 years into this (for the 2nd time, I had chickens 50 years ago) and I'm still blown away by the whole thing! Congrats, and enjoy!
