Huge flock of American Robins!

Do they flock like this every year?
I counted over 35 birds in this flock, in my backyard alone!

I know they are heading South for the winter, but to see so many all at once, got me to thinking, could this be a sign of a bad winter ahead?

Or have I not paid attention before, and it just grabbed my attention this time?

Totally normal. You just never noticed before. One year I walked outside and heard this great loud susurrous from the trees in my yard. Once I started looking around I realized I had about 200 blackbirds in my yard. It was amazing. I've never seen or heard that since.

I see/hear blackbirds, & starlings, every year, never American Robins.
