Hugh RAT IN COUP!!

For some days I have been suspecting a rat around the coup. A couple of holes & less eggs. Tonight when I went to close up the coup for the night, I saw the demon going in. I banged on the walls & checked around. I was terrified! The girls came in as normal & I closed it up. Now I'm scared it still might be in there. I have 10 hens, if it's still there, will the hens kill it or will it attack them. My husband is not home . Should I be worried? Traps will be set when he gets home in an hour.

Once they have access and a food source, they will keep coming back until you either make it so they can't get inside or kill them. Since it hasn't been doing anything to the chickens up till now, I wouldn't suppose it will start. Probably just waiting for the eggs. Just be careful with the traps that you don't catch chickens instead.
