Hi! I am doing my research and "brooding" over my little chicks like a mamma hen. About 2 weeks ago I purchased 4 baby chicks. One fell in the little water dish and didn't make it. I have 3 precocious babies left, Daphne, Lily, and Rosie. I don't remember what breeds they are. I am looking forward to watching their antics and eating their daily gifts. My little 8-pound, 14-year old dog, Soupy, is very curious and looks like he might like to play, but for the most part, he just watches them, and from time to time they inspect each other, nose to beak.

Sorry to hear about your lost chick, but -- yay for the survivors!

BTW, Soupy was the name of a most wonderful Labrador-Great Dane mix, who came to live with me when he was 6 months old and lived to be 15, which is pretty remarkable for such a big dog. Maybe the name helps them live long, happy lives? He was also pretty chill with poultry.

Welcome to BYC; it's good to meet you!
