Hey Team-is there any human food chickens should NOT eat? I have started making smoothies for my Scissor Beak hen, Beakie. She is completely turned on by her new meals. I make them from stuff in our garden/fridge. They are different every day. For example, the latest version is (cooked) beets, carrot, tomato, blueberries, plain yogurt, egg (with shell), zucchini, cucumber, left over pancake batter. Yesterday she had lettuce, kale, blueberries, pineapple, cucumber, egg, yogurt. I whizz all in the blender and serve it in a deepish dish, she basically inhales it. She also has layer crumblesmash available but clearly prefers home-made...Any foods I should avoid? Many thanks.

Well, the usuals. Chocolate, coffee, avocado.... If she lays I'd avoid citrus peels.... Lots of fats and salts and sugars shouldn't be used... But I worry about a chicken getting enough nutrition this way. Might wanna make sure those smoothies have, like, alfalfa and soybean in them.

avocado (I avoid all of it not just the skin and pit), onions and citrus.

oh, and leftover curry. Don't ask me how I know 😳
