How do I prevent mice from climbing up the quails' cage without using traps? In other words...how can I stop them from climbing up the cage legs? I've already tried oiling the legs and that only worked for the first day until the oil dried up. It's a flight cage so it's not like I could hang it up from the ceiling. I haven't been able to sleep properly in the past 2 weeks...lights on, radio on, one eye open...and still get woken up in the middle of the night to find like 3 or 4 of them chillin' in the cage. If I don't get good sleep soon I think I'm going to lose my mind. Lol. Please help with some humane ideas on how to stop these mice from climbing up. 😩

I agree with u 100% but in the meantime, how to I stop them from getting inside? It's so real my friend that even as I'm typing I'm standing in front of the cage keeping watch. Haha. Hey, look at what I caught 5 minutes ago...

Are they rats or mice?
Looked at the picture closer looks like a mouse. to stop them getting in you would need to probably cover the cage with smaller wire about 1/4 inch wire(6mm)

As far as I know mice don’t hunt small animals so the worst they will Probably do is eat the quail food and use it as a toilet (the quail food) , rats will hunt and kill small animals.

There's not really any way of stopping mice from entering the cage. There's not really anything to worry about. Rats on the other hand are a pain, they can cause some real destruction to livestock as well. I've always had mice in my cage. No way of stopping them. They can fit through a hole the width of a pencil.
