This is my first time hatching. I bought a humidity monitor last night from Petco. It's not expensive or anything it looks like a round guage with 10 20 30 40 50 60 etc. Well it has been staying around 45% humidity and i can't seem to bring it up. I don't have an automatic turner so i have to open the incubator 3 times a day for turning. Is this going to be really bad for my eggs? Is the opening for turnings causing me to be unable to keep good humidity? The eggs in the incubator are at day 9 and day 7. Yes, I staggered and I know I shouldnt have. Hoping for the best. So what do yall think 45% humidity - too low?

I kept mine around 40-45 until lockdown, our house is pretty dry and it wouldn't go any higher even with all of the water wells filled. Then I added some wet sponges under the wire (at lockdown) and that bumped it up to around 70%.

I may try the sponges at lockdown. I have a Little Giant Still Air. So far, so good. I have candled and I can see development in most and even movement! Yay!

I also have the LG still air, and I hand turned 3x a day because my duck eggs are too big for the auto turner. Good luck, what kind of eggs are you hatching?
