Yesterday I had 11 chicks hatch of 21. I had taken 9 under lights and left 2 in the incubator. They were still hatching at 1am when I went to bed (I couldn’t stop watching). I recall the humidity was low (50 I think) so I put more water in the channels. I don’t know what I was thinking... if I added too much or if this thunderstorm and heavy rain we had last night played a part but when I got up at 8 this morn I checked the incubator at the humidity was 98%!!! There were 6 little ones chirping away but appeared wet. I sopped up condensation I could reach inside and when I handled the little one I could feel they were more crusty feeling than wet so I decided to take them and put under lights with the rest so I could lift the tray and get out more water. One Black Copper Marans egg had a little hole (same size as it did last night.) and when I listened I could hear chirping inside.
Question is... given what happened do I help the little one still alive in the shell?
There are 4 of 6 double silver Laced Barnevelder eggs in there that haven’t hatched overnight
