Humidity during Lockdown? *How to increase humidity during lockdown?*

so i used a cup put water in it and put it in the microwave till it steamed. then i quickly placed it in the incubator. The temp went to 104 and the humidity went to 70%. Now the temp is 101 and the humidity is 75%. Should i just leave it now?

That sounds pretty good. I just keep in the 65-75% range and it works well for me.

Are you leaving the cup in the bator? If so take a good look at how it's sitting and make sure that the chicks won't be able to get into it and drown.

Min started hatching on day 19, but it's not uncommon for them to hatch on day 22-23. If your temps were a little bit low they can be a day or two late.

I would NOT open the bator at this point! I would add water through the vent holes and then use tape to cover the holes up. I scotch taped all of my vents(on day 19 to increase the humidity) it's working great...humidity is holding steady at 65%. Hoping to hear some cheap cheaps soon!

PS. Once they start hatching your humidity is going to soar up anyway.

They need the vents open for oxygen to circulate in the bator. It's your hatch, but I'd strongly advise opening those vents back up and managing the humidity with sponges or wet paper towles if the water wells are not enough where you live.

Hello Kitty, LOL (we are all here to help each other) but Thanx!

I love the steamy bathroom!!! It has worked for me several times and I have not lost a single 1. Of course I DO NOT recommend opening the bator but if you have to it is the best way to do it. It also helps jump the humidity if you can't get it up normally! (snicker, snicker)

1 small room heater set to 100 and a HOT shower cranked and pumping out steam! When you can hardly breath just turn off the water but keep the heat going! Then you can open the bator remove shells, babies, bad eggs, and refill water tubs as needed! Just make sure water is not condensing on the eggs!!!! If it does it can suffocate the chicks in the egg. Like I said I have done this several times and not had any problems! But like always you should not open the bator! Hense The term LOCKDOWN! LOL

P.s. I have had a set take 25 days so please be patient!

Good Luck and God Bless!
