I am on my 2nd day of lockdown.. Set eggs on March 9th.. started lockdown on Sunday the 27th
Okay so during the first 18 days my humidity averaged 44% temp was steady 99.6
I have the humidity now set at about 66%-68% (it kept going down today to 62% or 63% and then slowly back up) Not sure why.. we weren't doing anything so I reset the humidity to be at 68%, that way if drops a little it won't go down as low..
does this seem okay?
does it need to be lower or higher?
Does my room temperature have anything to do with the humidity inside?
we are doing this in my class where it is always warmer (70 degrees)

I have the Brinsea Octagon Advance with the humidity
I also live in Colorado where it is pretty dry- even though it is snowing outside

Any advice would help
Thanks so much..
lots of eager 2nd graders waiting and hoping to see some chicks hatch soon!!!

Your figures sound fine and I wouldn't go raising or lowering anything at this stage.

If you have a Brinsea fully automatic bator then it should keep temp and humidity very steady, but in a very cold area the natural humidity will be low, and central heating also dries up the air. So maybe your Brinsea humidity system is just having to work extra hard to keep humidity up. Make sure it doesn't run out of water!

P.S. How long does the snow in Colorado usually last? My sister is going to be spending 3 months on a ranch in Colorado in unheated log cabins soon, from April through to July. She's been told to take loads of warm clothes and a thermal hat to wear in bed!!!

Thanks, the humidity is staying around 66%-68%
it looks like 3 eggs keep moving a little bit so hopefully they are getting ready.

It is still pretty cold here in April at night, but warms up a lot during the day becasue the sun is so strong. We do a lot of camping in May and June and the weather is great just still can get colder at night, where is Colorado is she going to be?
It is a great place to live. I love it here
