I have Sebastopol eggs in the incubator and I think I might have a serious problem. I was keeping the humidity around 50%, spraying and cooling daily. I figured I should aim for a 15% weight reduction by day 28. At day 7 the weights looked right on track. At day 14 they were loosing weight too fast so I increased the humidity to 60%, then 70%. Today is day 18. Out of 5 eggs I have one at 15%, three at 13% and one that was heavier than the others at 10%.
If I understand correctly, an air cell that's too big will crowd the embryo and as a result it won't be able to maneuver to get into position to pip?
So at this point do I increase the humidity even more? Do I turn the fan off? Do I continue to spray the eggs, and if so do I do it when I open the incubator or right before I close the incubator? I just can't figure out how things went so horribly wrong.
BTW I'm using a Hovabator with a fan and an Incuturn egg turner.
