I recently made a homemade incubator and am having trouble getting the right humidity. My temp is perfect but the humidity is only around 28%. I have a small plate with water and sponge in it. Any more tips or ideas?

Welcome to BYC!

The only thing I can think is that you are losing humidity somewhere. How big is this plate and sponge? You might try adding more sponges if you have the room. I have good luck with damp sponges in the bators, that is why I am thinking you are losing it somewhere. It is necessary to have venting for fresh air, but maybe you have too much? You could try closing down some of the venting for now. But come lock down you will need them all open so you will run into this issue again.

You might ask this question in our Incubating Eggs forums for more help with this...

Good luck with this and I hope you can get this figured out soon.

Thanks for the advice. I'll have to try and close some of the vent holes.
