Hi! So we got home yesterday and 15 chicks had hatched in our incubator and the humidity had jumped to 97% and we don’t know how long it was that high.

We have 17 eggs left, 3 hatched today but there’s still 15 I hatched and it’s 2 days after hatching now. I know they can take a bit longer but does anyone know if that humidity jump could have caused a delay for the others ? :/

Not just a delay, it could kill them. The humidity being high changes the consistency of the remaining albumen and glues them inside the shell.

If they all were set at the same time then they should hatch around the same time.

I usually have 1 chick hatch a day or two before the rest, and then a big group that hatch all in 1 day. Once the big group hatches it's very rare that any more hatch. If they do it's only 1 or 2 and they arent very strong.

I've taken to candling unpipped eggs a day after the main group is out. Sometimes there are eggs that still have movement but it's rare for them to hatch even if they're given days longer. And i take out the ones that arent moving.
