We have 2 Brinsea Mini Advance incubators in our classroom. 7 chicken eggs in each. Last year and this year we are seeing the same issue with the incubators. One unit shows a lot of humidity without needing to often lift the lid and put in more water often. The other unit does not show any moisture and needs more water added daily. We added a hygrometer in each. Last years hatch that came out of the drier model had difficulty and very dry membranes. Any suggestions?
Would it be helpful to cover the air vent holes?

They are identical incubators? Have you checked the incubators over carefully? On the dry one does the lid fit right, is there a crack or is it warped somewhere etc? The vent holes all open in the wet one etc? Somewhere there must be a difference ... are they in different locations? Generally you do not want to cover vent holes, especially near the end of incubation.

Thank you for responding. Yes, they are identical and purchased at same time. Both one year ago. We looked them over carefully regarding the fit and do not see any issues. Just doesn't make sense for such a difference.

Are the fans in both working correctly? What happens when you switch tops? Would think it has to be in the fit somehow, you are not finding water underneath etc? It is like that game of find the differences.

Great idea! I will try that!
