Humidity level to stop egg weight loss??

Good morning!
What is the best humidity level to stop further weight loss in eggs? I’m trying a drier method this time and started at 30-35%. On day 7 my eggs were a little above target weight, so I dropped humidity to approx 25%. That overshot it, and now on day 14 my eggs have lost too much. I’m close to where they need to be on day 18 (but I’m on 14), so I don’t want them to lose much more. What should I increase the humidity to to drastically slow the weight loss?? I was thinking like 45-50%, then further increase at lockdown??Thanks!!!

I'd shoot for 60% now and 75% at lock down. When I incubate I typically use a humidity of 50 to 55 until lock down and get the necessary weight loss. You're probably not going to prevent the egg from losing some more weight, but slowing it should be possible. Just make sure that if you think you have lost too much that you get the chicks into the brooder where they can drink as soon as possible after they hatch. Hydrating will be better for them than staying in a humid hatcher would be.

My personal opinion is to not mess with the humidity too much. I dry incubate too and my humidity has dropped to around 20% but then I got it back up to between 30% and 40%. My hatches were fine. I don't mess with the eggs by weighing them anymore. Haven't for years. I'm not trying to be a wise guy/gal but I have found over the years that most often what will be will be. I have used broody's to hatch as well as my incubator. Good luck...
