I live in a very humid area. During incubation this is fine and I generally dont need to even add much water. But come hatch day its a disaster. The humidity is so high the water runs off the inside of the incubator. Opening the lid a crack gets me shrink wrap chicks. anyone have any suggestions? or even a brand of incubator with a better ventilation control?

My incubator is a cheap one but it is very well ventilated and I've never had trouble with humidity at lockdown. I can have it up to 85% with no condensation forming inside. I like it on the high side so I can open it without issues if necessary. I have read of members drilling holes in the plastic of their incubators to improve ventilation.

How warm is the room your incubator is in? If the ambient air temperature is too low then it cools the plastic of the incubator, causing the warm damp air inside to produce condensation when it hits the cooler plastic. Do you think that is what is happening?
