Getting ready to start a hatch in a king suro which I bought second hand. It has a humidity pump but I usually do a dry hatch until lockdown as I find I have a much better hatch rate that way. Can I turn off the pump until needed ? I haven’t really inspected the workings of it yet,it’s in great condition, bought from a friend who had only used it twice, but was emigrating so got a great deal.
Advice appreciated.

If you turn it down to 20% it probably won't kick on anyway, and I'd recommend doing that. I don't like to hatch much lower than 30% myself but whatever works for you. :)
