I have a LG forced air incubator. I have the digital temp/humidity reader from Wal-Mart. The temps/humidity seem to be accurate thus far. I'm on day 16. I upped the humidity by filling the wells, putting 3 sponges in, a wet old tank top in a bowl, 3 wash cloths and 1 paper towel. With these, the humidity is 69%. I added them as I went along to get the humidity that high...otherwise it wasn't high enough. Seems like alot of stuff in there. But I remember reading about putting a towel in there to up the humidity. The windows are not fogged. So, does this sound about right?
Oh and this is for coturnix quail eggs w/ expected hatch date of 16-18 days.
It just seemed like alot of wet stuff in there to get the humidity that high. I'm adding water to it 2-3 times a day. What will I do when I start to get pips when the humidity goes below 60%...nothing I assume at that point?? Or do nothing when they start zipping??
