My little 12 egg (really only fits 9 properly) incubator doesn’t have a hygrometer but instead suggests how much water to add to it each week to keep humidity levels in the right place (probably unreliable but we are trying it out). We are on day 7 today, and from days 8-14 it says to increase the amount of water. I am reading a lot about people keeping humidity low until lock down. I’m wondering if I should just continue to add the smallest amount of water (recommended for days 1-7) until lockdown and then increase to what it suggests for lockdown.....or if i should follow the instructions and increase water as we go as it suggests. I’ve heard so many people are having better hatch rates with the lower humidity levels before day 18.

I would gauge whether to add or not on the size of the air cells if not using a hygrometer. If they're growing as expected I wouldn't change anything until lockdown.
