Humidity question!

I am using the incubating method where I do about 20% humidity until lockdown then up to 60 to 75% humidity. This worked great while most of my eggs hatched. I had a few late hatchers and I cant keep the humidity up! Why would the humidity stay up for 2 days and now not go up? I add warm water through a stray several times a day and now I cant get above 50%. The last three chicks I have had to help because they were shrink wrapped. Incubating is such an art!

try adding a warm damp sponge in the incubator. That's how I get mine back up when it drops.
