Humidity Too High During Incubation?

I have the humidity in the incubator between 50 and 60%. Some sources say that's good, and others say that's too high. This is my first time incubating eggs and I could really use the help. Currently the chicks are on day 11.

I personally think that is too high at that stage. I have had success with it being lower ( 30-40) preferably 30.

Do you think they'd be fine if I lowered it down to 50, or between 40 and 50%?

I don't worry with my humidity in the early stages. But it's usually around 30% naturally and that seems to work. Using the bator I now use I've hatched 18/18 and 13/14 so must be doing something right.

Had it at 18% for awhile last year and that was my perfect hatch...so...for real, don't worry about it early on. Just put the eggs and let them go. No humidity control at all, then at lock down bump it up about as high as you can get it...mine at hatch is usually 70-80. Some people say that's too high, but whatever the manual with the Incubator says to fill both channels and that's what I do, and the humidity sits around 70-80 and I have really good hatches.

Wow! I guess I won't fill up all the channels until lockdown then.

Good plan. The ambient humidity where I am is around 40-50% most of the time. I'm not sure where you are but I feel like unless you are in the desert you should be fine
