Humidity too high on Hova Bator 1588.. Help!

This is day 2 of my first incubation. I am having trouble with too much humidity in my Hova Bator. I finally took all the water out of it and am watching it. It is about 63% now about 30 minutes after taking the water out. Also the bedroom that the Bator is in is warm and humid. I checked and it is 89 and 47% humidity just in the room. (I have chicks in here with a heat lamp on them). So do I leave the Hova Bator with no water overnight and see if it is better by morning? Do I leave the top vent plug out or in? The temp in it is 99.5. Any advice would be good! I am afraid to go to bed!

i would open it for a few secs and leave the plug out. i dont have that incubator so i can only say what i would do in your case. the eggs will be fine as if you think a hen has to leave the nest at least once a day to eat drink and poo. if you have had the plug in the whole time i would watch the temp after you take it out

Okay. I tried that. Humidity is now 46% and climbing slowly. Now 47%. Now 48%. Good grief. Now 50%. I keep thinking it will dry out and start dropping since I took all the water out! It is now 54%. Temp hasn't recovered yet. It is 98.8. Wonder how long the humidity has to be too high before it hurts them?

i'm not sure keep an eye on the temp for now is what i would do 54 isnt to bad though still a bit high but better than what it was

So I got up this morning and the humidity is 44% and the temp 99.5 with the one plug open. Leave it like that? That is my inclination since it is so humid in the room already. Just checking to make sure am thinking right. It was a late night!

Maybe you can put it in a different room? WHen mine gets that high, I move it to the basement

Did you just have the middle trough filled? The 1588 is a pretty easy bator if you follow the directions and don't play with it (like I did last hatch and stuffed up my eggs with high humidity at the end!)
