Hi. So my chicken eggs are at day 19/20. The humidity is being terrible! I can barely manage to keep it at 65 and I tried misting the eggs. Well they literally got wet! Like dew drops on them! I have 16 eggs. 1 is trying to zip and two are just pipped. Well I quickly dried them off but am afraid of what to do. The chick trying to zip is definitely kind of leathery in the membrane!! How can I help him and the others? Please help!!! Can they have water droplets on them from the mister? Or did I ruin them all?

65 percent humidity is fine dont keep opening the bator. Once a chick hatches the humidity should go up more.If the membrane gets dried you can use some coconut oil on it, but without really seeing whats going on with your hatch just keep the incubator closed see if they hatch.

Is your hygrometer accurate?

no you did not ruin them all you can use moist tissue, sponge, piece wet rag and put in incubator to bump up humidity.

I dont know what incubator your using so above options may or may not be available

Hi! Thank you so much for replying! My incubator has two large plastic windows I can see in. That's why I figured he looked a bit leathery.

I actually ended up throwing a literal wad of soaking paper towels in the corner. It tossed it up to 70 and the little guy's membrane got a bit wetter looking and he is already over half way through trying to hatch! He's so good!! I've also got 3 more pips!

My hygrometer is brand new, I bought it a day before I got the eggs. The temp is accurate on it so I presume the hygrometer is as well? Thank you so much for helping!!!
