Has anyone ever used one of these in a homemade incubator? I have a lab grade incubator that was given to me. It is big enough to hold two LG auto egg turners and a room for a fan and something to add humidity. We are going to add a tanning bed style cooling fan to circulate air and was looking for ways to keep the humidity rock steady. Has anyone ever used one of these. We were looking at an electronic programmable one the Cigar Oasis XL. What do you guys think?

You may find the fan you want to use moves to much air. To much air movement will cause a problem. I would stick with a computer fan. Small yes, but will still five you the air movement.
Be should the fan is blowing upward and not directly on the eggs.

I have one like that mine is all stainless inside I couldn't get airflow without big modifications which I didn't want to try so since it holds the temp so good on both shelves in going to use it for a hatcher starting tonight just had to figure out how to get my humidity up sponges didn't do the trick I had to use terry cloth ... I am happy because it has a glass door behind the front door I can open the door to see and not mess up the temp or humidity that seal on the door is tight so I'm hoping that I get a "peep" show on Tuesday night....

Not really concerned with the fan. PC fan is 3.5 x 3.5. This one is 4.75 x 4.75. I got it instead of a PC fan because it appears to be more durable and AC powered instead of DC. Most people on here convert a PC fan they use a 12v DC/120v AC transformer this on is 115v AC. I don't think there much of a difference in power.

My guess is that that particular humidifier wont hold enough water to keep a incubator at the right humidity level. Just because it says its cartrage will last for one year in a humidor (cigarbox) doesnt mean it will last thru a hatch in a incubator. Humidors dont have heating elements that will evaporate the moisture. It might work well in something like a LG, but my cabinet incubators will go thru about a gal of water in 21 days. I am pretty sure the humidifier in the link you provided wont hold anywhere near that much water. . It could possibly work if you constantly monitor the water levels and dont mine opening the incubator to keep it refilled. Only way to know for sure is to give it a try and see how well it works.
