Hi I’ve not been on the forums much as life has been busy, also flu, and honestly been mourning the loss of our two lovely little cockerels that we hatched. Couldn’t find homes and couldn’t shut them up. After that hard decision our girls have been happier and friendlier. 2 were hatched 19 July and one 18 August (3 out of 24 eggs, 2 culled cockerels, one pullet died, quite a rollercoaster)

yesterday I heard a commotion just as I was about to leave. No time to look. Today I couldn’t find one pullet when I got back from dog walking, checked coop and she just stood up from laying. I found 4 eggs altogether. I think it’s the Maran/legbar cross and Blue Copper French Marans maybe, she is the youngest. Unless Young CCL don’t lay blue eggs? Anyway it’s all been very exciting (eggciting) today.
