I'm wondering (just for my own knowledge) why the Gov'ner of FL ddn't turn all the southbound lanes of Alligator Alley into northbound lanes to alleviate some of the traffic getting out? I see vid's on the Weather Channel of bumper-to-bumper traffic going north and the southbound lanes empty. And ppl just sitting for hours and prob will never get out.

So far good some strong wind and heavy rain but still 4-8 hours from the worst of it.

It’s moving more north again has moved 15 miles more north into Bradenton where there are predicting landfall we really won’t know till it hits land.

I am just comparing my elevation to Pamps.
At 32 feet and where I am storm surge has never been an issue. Now too much rain and flooding have.

You're not the only one wondering why .. I can't count the comments on yt asking the same thing. Even a single lane on that side would have helped a lot.

No one is trying to freak anyone out, everyone is simply sharing information on on the situation at hand, and the updates they have seen. This is a situation in which everyone needs to be aware of what is happening. Nobody has said anything wrong.

If your at a bay or channel surge is still going to be bad for you. My aunt stayed in Houston for Alicia and she said it was crazy. But Alicia went up the ship channel so the surge hit farther in than if it had hit on the islands.

I am dreading it flooding for them and even more dreading the whole not having power crap. It's living torture.
