I know this is not a good time to bring this up,but those of us in south Louisiana know that this subject is something we live with yearly. The "forecasters" are saying that next week at this time,there may very well be a storm in the gulf that could affect us. I am new to chickens this year,and I am wondering from those of you that are experienced what will you do with your fowl if a direct hit is expected in your area? I have lost 3 homes in the last 35 years where I live,and I just can't wrap my head around leaving my chickens behind! Do those of you that experience hurricanes take them with you or do you leave them behind? I would appreciate your thoughts and advice on this matter.
