hurt baby goose

If it helps you, I was only finally able to find plain Niacin at (of all places) a human vitamin store (like GNC). They also had Brewer's Yeast, but I opted for the Niacin (came in capsules 100mg so no pill crushing!) in his water so I could monitor how much he was really getting.

Keep us updated on your babes!

That should be the right one. Check to see if it says Nicotinic Acid? That's what you want. Sometimes it'll say Innositol Hexanicotinate which is NOT what you want. You basically want Niacin in its simplest form. Avoid any that say things like "time released" or "flush free".

Hope that helps! I wasn't able to find the right one at Walmart or the feed store or the pharmacy. So I finally went to an all vitamin store and they had the right one in lots of strengths and forms so I was able to get exactly what I needed with nothing extra in it.

It's just says niacin n nothing else I'll try to go get some stronger one from gmc but won't b able to until Thursday r Friday

Do I have 2 keep the lil goose separated r can 2 ducks 1 goose n 1 Turkey drink the water 2 without hurting them

As long as it doesn't say "time released", "extended release", "no flush" or "flush free" it SHOULD be ok. As for your others getting it, ducks and geese need it so it won't hurt them. I'm not sure about the turkey though, as I've only ever raised 2 and, well, they were dinner

I'm hoping someone will chime in here on the turkey part at least, but I can tell you it will not hurt the ducks.

As far as getting a stronger one, this should be fine as long as it doesn't say any of those things I listed above. The dosage for Niacin (from what I've read here) is 100-150mg per gallon of water. I have Cas (my gosling) on 100mg/gallon currently. He gets an every other day (or at least 3 times a week) dose now that he has no problems, and I plan to continue that until he's 10 weeks old.

Just an after thought until the turkey experts chime in...If you aren't sure about the turkey having niacin, maybe you could leave one duck with him (so he's not lonely) and put the other duck with the gosling, and just give that duck and gosling the Niacin water?

I am certain the Niacin is fine for ducklings and goslings, but I'm not sure about turkeys, so if I couldn't wait to find out, personally that's what I would do if I could, just to air on the side of caution.

Go on the turkey thread and ask about the niacin. The niacin won't hurt the ducks at all actually they need it as much as the goslings do.
