My 1 1/2 year old Peking female duck was trampled by my horse today. She is limping pretty bad and not putting any weight on her left side. She's using her wing to try and support that side. The right side is perfectly fine. Her foot is not swollen. I'm worried it may be a spinal injury(please tell me no :( ) !! She is drinking a little bit and pooping. She is in a small cage at my house. I want her to be okay. We gave her 20mg of Children's ibuprofen earlier. Please help me narrow down what it could be and how I can help! I cannot afford a vet right now. Thank you

Does she squeal or flinch when you touch it? What you're doing sounds good. Can you feel anything that feels unaligned or broken? If not, she'll probably be fine.
I had a Delaware hen who got stepped on by a horse, and she healed nicely with nothing on it or given to her to help it. She lived for another year before a dog got her.
I also had a mallard female get stepped on by a horse. Sadly she died.

She makes no noise at all, I pushed on her shoulder and wing area and she didn't flinch. I felt around and did not feel anything abnormal. Thanks for your reply.

She's good! A lot happier and slowly starting to be herself again. Probably taking her back down to the barn tomorrow to see her buddies! Thanks!

Good, good. Glad she's doing better! Letting nature take its course seems one of the best cures. I had a couple ducklings attacked by the-now-gone drakes. Their poor little heads looked awful. We put some salve and lavender on them, and left them alone and they're almost better!
