my daughters hen who is about 7 months old hurt her foot. She does not want to walk on it. We had a rain storm last night so I am not sure if she fell off the ramp or what. I looked for bumble foot and there is nothing that indicates that. Any ideas. I do not feel any bones in the wrong place?

It could be a sprain. You may want to put her in a “hospital” crate so she can rest.

i was thinking of bringing her in side away from the other chickens and keep her calm.
Thank you for helping.

I brought her in. She will stand and then lay down. She is making normal chicken sounds, but i am not sure if she wants to eat. She has food and water and I added watermelon. Is this normal?

How is she doing now? It is normal for chickens with an injury to go off food for a bit, espeically when moved to a new environment. Just keep food and water available 24/7.
She is still not walking on her foot. I am thinking it may be bumble foot as she has a sorta blackish dot on her bottom of her foot. I started empson salt bath yesterday and sprayed it with Bannixx. i noticed her sister has a swollen area on her foot. I will take pictures so you can see what I am talking about.

The first photos is the chicken I have been talking about.

The first chicken is the one that is not walking on her foot. The second chicken is getting around fine.

The one with the swelling between the toes visible from the top side of the foot (sister?) definitely has bumblefoot - she’ll need that soaked, drained, and wrapped (probably more than once over time). The other one may have it beginning but it isn’t obvious. The foot pad looks a bit irritated but I don’t see a clear scab, just some of the scales are a bit overgrown. Check roosts/perches and ramps for sharp edges, splinters, etc. It could be the lame one without obvious scabs has something embedded in her foot that healed over; happened to a couple of my hens recently and it took weeks for a scab to form as the foreign object was pushed out.
