My hens beak was hurt during a raccoon attack she’s not eating probably because it hurts. what can I do to make her feel better or at least get her to eat or drink? 910D6DBF-E720-4BC5-9825-CE06394F1ACE.jpeg

I converted this article into a thread and moved it to our Emergency forum. Your photo links aren't working, can you attach them in another fashion? (Use the little "Scene Icon" in the editor box to attach photos.)

I hope your hen will be ok! :hugs

I can see your photos now.

Yes it looks like she cracked the tip, possibly higher pretty good. You might separate her out in a big cage but within the flock. Dampen her feed down to she isn't jamming her beak to pick up food. It doesn't have to be sloppy food but wet enough you can mound it up a bit. Only make what she will eat in one day. You might feed her scrambled eggs too, very easy to eat. You want to make eating as easy as possible for a while. After a few days if she seems to be eating ok and there is no blood you might let her out of the cage. But keep her from tearing things with her beak. It will grow out but it may take a couple of months.

Also unrelated to the beak you may want to check her for mites. She appears to have some in that second picture
Yeah I have a mite problem that will not go away Ive tried a lot of different things but they refuse to leave
