hi everyone, im new to chickens and this site. I have a chicken tractor made from a trampoline frame and while moving it yesterday one of my Rhode Island Red hens (8 weeks old) got her leg hung in the frame. She now hops around on one leg but manages to still climb the ladder into the henhouse and even roost 4 ft up in the coop. I inspected her foot/leg and don't think it's broken but im no vet. Could it just be sprained or sore? I'm concerned cause I'm so new to this. Thanks in advance.

If there is no break and she can use it, then I would bet a bad sprang. She may not want to use the leg for several days, but it should eventually start getting better.

If you let her roost up high then you should sit her down in the morning before she tries to fly down. Don't want her doing more damage.

and .. be sure to check the joints for swelling and/or extra heat.

thanks guys, I do carry her off the roost in the morning and I dont see much swelling but it seems warmer than the other foot.
