Today my neighbor decided to let her one hen out to eat bugs and have some freedom around the yard. Well her hen came down to my yard and must of wanted to see my chicks as she seems lonely. Well after awhile my dogs decided to chase her and she went under a truck. Well one of them grabbed her and tore her skin under her wing. There was very minimal bleeding but you can see the rip. What can I do to help her heal and is there anything I should be watching for.

This is the first time the dogs had gone after them and I am concern that this may happen again.

What should I do for the hen and the dogs?

Flush the wound with betadine, gently pat dry and apply neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment. Apply either ointment until wound is healed.
It might be best that your neighbor contain her hen on her property. Generally, dogs and chickens dont mix.
