I've sworn off of the little ducks. My Silky disappeared right out from under our noses without a trace and I'm convinced it must have been a hawk. It's always a heart breaker and it seems it makes it even harder when their mates are left mourning. Is there any chance he could have slipped under fencing? I had one disappear that way that did resurface at night when it was time for dinner and bed.

So Mr. Duck has obviously gone to duck heaven. Now my situation is this. the widow yesterday has taken to her little box. She seems to be sitting on the eggs now. There are about 14 eeggs and she hasn't com eout. whats going on. she's not drinking water or eating, but pulling all the straw into around her

It's the saddest story I ever had to tell. My poor Violet the widow. Her husband was such a gentleman. And that lunatic the space who is a white call duck but loads of personality is now the man around the house. the kids want to do a wedding. I had a Duck egg Shower in late March for the first egg and all the neighbours came along. i would love to post the pics but don't know how.
Mr. duck would be sooooooooooooo proud of Violet and how she is sitting since yesterday. gathering all the hay around her and sitting thei. Hopefully we will have news soon. BTW....Whats next. I'm new to all this.
