RR hen found dead late afternoon in coupe. He has a flock of 15 hens and 1 rooster. No signs of illness prior to death. She was eating early this morning. No signs of broken neck, not egg bound, no prolapse vent and no signs of physical injury. Hen was healthy, plump and looked great since molting this winter. Can they just die suddenly with no reason?

I had the same thing yesterday with a silkie.

Sounds like a heart attack! Sorry to hear that, but it does happen in chickens especially when there's no signs of anything else.
