Okay, I know that it says it's not available any more, and that it would have been super expensive but seriously. It's a pre-made hen house and run! This company could move some serious stock if they called it a hen house. I mean, the eglu is $665 and can hold maybe two chickens. (Yes they advertise four) Well we don't know how much this house would have been, so oh well.

Anyway, I was browsing dog runs and came across this.

I really need to stop shopping for pre-made houses and just buy some lumber.

I'd like to see Suncast sell a conversion kit for their dog houses. There are a lot more people with pet dogs than pet chickens so dog houses do have that economy of scale thing going. But I agree if the eglu can be so pricey, any company that makes plastic dog houses should be able to horn in on the market.

Hi,

My wife has decided that before I can get started building my coop, I have to build a new dog house for our two outside dogs.

I got to work on it immediately. Now I'm nearly done and I stepped back to judge my work and realized I'd built a chicken coop for my dogs.

Hope they like it!

It's 4'x4' and is elevated about 2' off the ground, using 4"x4" treated posts buried 20" in the ground. I've insulated the floor with styrofoam and other insulating materials I've scavanged from mine and my wife's workplaces.

I can't wait to see the dogs using the ramp and pop door.
