Hi, I was wondering if anybody hatches without a hydrometer. I just followed the instructions on the incubator as to how much water to put in at what time. This was my first hatch and all died

. I have 9 copper marans going on lock down tonight, and I have ameraucanas and silkies on the genesis incubator. I hope a few will hatch

. This is my first time and it's starting to be a not so good experience. all the dead chicks where fully developed

I am a newbie too, but thought I would mention that I got one for $3 at Walmart today for the 27 eggs I set yesterday. It's worth the investment for the peace of mind it provides. You don't need an expensive one, at least from what I have been told. A yard one is fine.

HTH! Good luck!
