Hi,
We bought an adult Manchurian Ringneck rooster; he’s a beautiful bird and also is from a pure strain bloodline.

He’s got a pen all to himself, but he’s so skittish that I’m afraid he’s in danger of injuring himself.

What is a good “calm-me-down” remedy?
Would putting a hen in with him settle him down?

Thanks

All of our pheasants were that way when we go them, it took a good while for them to calm down, but we built a box and put in the pen with them for them to hide in. This is our temporary pen, when we fix their permanent one we plan to put some dead cedar trees and stuff like that in there for them to hide out in.

Put a lot of cover in there for him.Tree branches and wood leaned on the side of the pen works good.Give him plenty of places to hide.
In N.H.,Tony.
