Hi! I’m Shelly and I am a first time chicken owner to 5. They are 7 weeks old this Sat!

We are in Southern California

I have a 5 year old German shepherd and a 6 month old giberian shepsky (husky shep mix) :) and two indoor cats (one has diabetes)

I have the Eglu Cube Large with a 9’ run.
They were moved outside two nights ago and love it! (I didn’t sleep the first night at all!)

I was holding them since day one and they are all friendly and come when called EXCEPT CluckCluck... he’s always been a lil snarky and now he is looking rooster-ish-maybe😳! But I have zero idea! We aren’t allowed to have one in this city and I’m super stressed over that! He’s an Americana.

I have had Lupus for 20 years so I’m home almost always. I was the owner of a nail salon for 20 years!

WELCOME to BYC!!
I am also an owner of a GSD but, shes really a King Shepard.
I'd love for you to post a picture.
You have come to the correct place to learn about chickens. The so so Mr. Cluck Cluck needs a name change to Ms. Cluck Cluck as I believe he is a she called a Pullet.
Breed, I'm still learning but, I'm sure some very knowledgeable peeps on here will correct me if I'm wrong.
Look around the site, enter the various contests to possibly win a few prizes. Show off your pictures.
Get yourself a drink and pull up a chair and let the new chicken knowledge take over. You will get to meet peeps from all over the globe.
It would be very helpful if you list your location in your profile. This helps the experts on here to better help you when the time comes.
So, update your location and enjoy some incredible chicken pictures.
We are EGG-CITED you are here!
