I’m a newbie!

Hi everyone! I am just getting started on my chicken journey. I started my flock with 10 chicks which will be three weeks old in a couple days. Six Golden Buffs, two Buckeyes and two Splash Marans. I was in shock at how quickly they outgrew their bin! The inside of our coup is nearly completed, so we put up a faux wall to give them a section of the coup. The wall is 2.5’ high and I went out to find droppings on the outside of the wall!!! My gosh! Already?! It seems too soon, but it looks like we’re going to have to open the coop up to them before someone gets injured or can’t get back over the wall. I used to love having them in my laundry room. Now that they’re in the coop I could go out 25 times a day. They are still a little skittish when I pick them up, except for one of the Buffs. She loves the attention. I have a feeling she’s gonna be my girl!

Oh, they do grow quickly. Ours at 15 weeks are beginning to look almost adult and the 12 weeks ones are close behind. We have no room for more chicks until next year .
