I <3 My Duck!! But is it a boy or girl???

Mine are not that friendly. I wish! Mine both run from me but when I catch them they aren't feisty. My mallard drake flails his feet and scratches me but loves to snuggle. My buff duck doesn't flail but honks like crazy! She isn't much for snuggling but she likes to balance on my hand like a chicken.

I was leaning that way. You should hear it when it's trying to tell me something! It looks right at me and quacks loudly! Just tells me all about it! It's so funny.

I am glad you posted this. I was thinking about getting this breed because they are so pretty but I live in a urban neighborhood and can't have loud ducks.

Isn't she pretty!?? And she's just as sweet and friendly as she can be!! She puts up with me smooching on her and loves to tuck her head up under my chin!

She sounds very personable, enjoy!

When I say loudly, I don't mean horribly intrusively loud! I mean more than just a soft cheep like she used to do. I probably talk louder than she quacks! Heh heh!

I found this awesome page that helps tell the gender difference when you have more than one duckling of the same age. It applies to muscovies, but I would assume that it is the same with most ducklings. http://www.muscovyduckcentral.com/gender.html
