We are hatching some eggs for the first time. I have a total of 9 eggs under 2 hens just to see what happens. I put clean fertile eggs them 5 OEG and 4 RIR. We have had laying hens for 20 years and never bred any chickens so this is exciting.

The best part is I just ordered some Rhode Island Reds from Dick Horstman and some Buckeyes from Travis Anders. @tandersphoenix

The cool part is my family came over from Europe between the 1890s and 1920. These birds have a longer American heritage than I do and I spent 20 years in the Navy. How, funny is that!?

Right at 2 weeks now. It'll be interesting. I'm hoping for a couple more OEG hens. I have the Brown breasted black reds. They look horrible coming out of the molt
