Congratulations on your first eggs.... How EGGsiting !! LOL

I would guess it is unlikely the bantam cochin laid either of the eggs - their eggs tend to be smaller... Nothing wrong with that, believe me as we just had our very first bantam cochin eggs this last week. In the course of 5 days we got 3, which my wife made me for breakfast yesterday. Oh, how I missed really fresh eggs !!

Oh, by the way

The EE's are around 24 weeks I think I was told...or was it 22? I'd have to go look at the calendar again. I was given the barred cochin and he said she was about 22 weeks when i got her, but i dunno... And they didn't have an age on the RIR when I adopted her.

Yeah, I'm a member too! Can anyone tell me which one of these 2 girl's layed my light tan egg? I have a bantam BR and a bantam EE. Do brown egg layers start laying darker when they get more established? I really really hope my EE gives me pastel green eggs.

Here are the girls on "first egg day"

The first egg is the light tan skinny one. It is pictured next to a brown store egg, and a white nest egg (sized for bantam & quail).
