We have had a couple chickens in the past, but never a large pack! I hope to get 6 hens and maybe two rosters trying to decide what kind? I need help

Welcome to Backyard Chickens!

There are so many breeds to chose from, and sometimes it can seem like you just want them all!

Go with what you think looks good and what works in your climate. If eggs matter, get some good layers.

I would only get one rooster if I were only getting 6 hens, since they may exhaust the hens if there are two of them and they both are romantic towards the hens.

I have around 5 roosters at this time and it is too many even though I have over 25 hens, both bantams and standard size.

I find Plymouth Rocks to be good foragers, friendly, good egg layers, calm, and hardy in most climates. There are a ton of other good breeds out there though, like the friendly and adorable cochins and brahmas (bantam or standard) and the beautiful wyandottes. There are also Sussex and Australorps and Orpingtons and much more!

Good luck!
