I am a NewBee and in need of advice for my4 month old RI red

Hello all. I am new to chickens and country. I am a city gal but I love my ladies. They are 4 months old. 3 buff orpingtons and 3 RI reds. I ordered 6 and still have 6! But one of my babies has a swollen area above her right eye. Been reading the threads on how to go about caring for this new illness. I will get the terramycin ointment and start treating her. She is otherwise normal; eats, runs, scratches the ground. They are out all day and go to roost at dusk. Pretty maintenence free until now. Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated.

2 of mine had that too. gave them the kind that they drink and have never thought of it again. I check new girls when I add them, but have never seen it since.

Thank you for your help. I just wonder where I can get these meds. Without a prescription? without seeing a vet?
