Long term plans to get chickie's in the spring - backyard laying 3-4. As for now, learning and observing so by spring ... I should be more than ready. Really looking forward to hanging out on your site! Linda

Thanks for all the welcomes!! So far I am enjoying all the reading material - fun! I do currently have 3 dogs, 1 cat, 2 cockateils and a 90gl. aquarium. I have cancer (metatasic 1V colon cancer and rectal cancer - currently in abit of remission). I am on disability and spend alot of time w/gardening and animals. You might say they are my Prozac - !!! I have been thinking of chickens for awhile and just started to think more seriously. My son and I are going to make a "project" making a coop this winter. He is pretty handy w/carpentry. Alot of positive information on this site - anything I should be concerned about particulary? Remember just 3-4 layers.
Linda Lou
